Gwen Wu was, at one time, a local DJ who was better known as DJ Fade-Out.
She was also the little sister to the local triad boss, and the daughter to one of the smartest people in the entire world, a man who made his living creating things for the government. Then everything went to hell, for not just her, but the entire city at large. Her father found himself on the wrong end of an attack by psionically powered meta-humans who broke into their home and tortured him until he became a mental vegetable.
When the metas began banding together, they set their sights on the turf controlled by the various normal gangs and factions throughout the city, including the triads. Her brother was gunned down as a consequence of this, when his own people betrayed him, hoping to get in on the ground floor of this "revolution". Gwen shut down, grew cold, distant, whoever she used to be, everything she was, everything she loved, was gone. Dead. To her, the only sane response was to just shut everything down. To go away.
She spent two years in self imposed "exile", only to return with hate in her heart and revenge on her mind. When her family died, the only thing she had left were her brothers personal cache of weapons, and her fathers last creation: a tactical combat body suit. She WANTS to use these things to fight back...but as of yet, hasnt found the nerve.

Gwen Wu hates the world.
She's cold, remourseless and, quite frankly, completely insane. When her brother was gunned down, her psyche fratured, splitting into two seperate personalities within her subconsious. One, her normal self and her normal failings. She thinks, she feels, she gets afraid, she considers the consequences.
Her other self is a loud mouthed, confrontational, impulsive and incredibly violent.
The two sides often conflict with one another, but thus far her violent side only exists as a goading voice inside her mind-egging her on and practically daring her to fufil a death wish she may or may not actually have. As such, Gwen will vocally, and loudly, argue with the voice from time to time.

Gwen Wu is a normal human girl, with the speed, strength and reflexes of an average girl her age. She has spent her entire life training in both Thai boxing and Brazillian Ju-jitsu because she wanted to be able to take care of herself and not always have to rely on her brothers protection and could arguably be considered the best hand-to-hand fighter in the entire city.
She was considered a child prodigy in electronics, studies ballistics and considers making explosives a fun hobby. She also considers herself a budding weapons expert and loves to collect, dismantle and use any and all fire-arms she can get.

The last thing her father was working on was a full body tactical combat suit for use in the infantry by the army but never got past the prototype stage. Gwen Wu posesses the only working model and keeps it as a symbolic momento to remember her father by. It is woven with high grade kevlar to protect from incoming fire from guns and is also woven with flame retardent materials. The suit also provides protection from extreme weather conditions, keeping her warm during the cold and comfortable in the heat. Attatched to the head piece are glare-free googles capable of infra-red, thermal and night vision, along with a heads-up display (HUD) that she hasnt worked all the kinks out on and a bluetooth capable wireless radio for communication.
The capsule's around her chest and wrists are of her own design and creation. They house a variety of weapons and explosives for quick and easy access.
Her standard equipment usually consits of:
- Twin machine pistols + extra ammo clips. She's also created and sometimes uses explosive round clips for the guns depending on the situation
- Stun, smoke, concussion, and frag grenades (the capsules)
- Power damphners of her own design, used to disable the meta human abilities of gang-bangers. (also in capsules)

All she knew was her family, all she has now is herself and Riot. He's her only friend in the whole world.
