a Chipmunk and a Lizard is a webcomic by Jon Thayer and Howard August about a Chipmunk, a Lizard, a Bird, a Bat and sometimes a duck sitting on a rock and talking about the events around them.

[edit] Characters

  • Chipmunk wears a skull mask. He works for Customer Service, although it is unknown for which company. He also has a pet cricket named Orfeo, who is never seen. He likes to watch the show Days of Our Children. Chipmunk is also musical, giving a yearly harp recital during the Yule Season. This is often poorly attended.
  • Lizard wears a clown mask, and is constantly threatening to eat his friends. He is shown to be uncaring and unsensitive. A repeated line of his is "...but if it's no fun, I'm going home", usually in response to being invited somewhere. However, there are times when Lizard shows some emotion eg when he returned Chipmunk's harp after buying it on Ebay.
  • Bird wears a Carnival mask, and has many relatives. She also likes to travel and is a dreadful gossip.
  • Bat wears a sleeping mask, and finds reptiles to be inferior to mammals and birds. Bat suffers from an inferiority complex.
  • A duck pops up from time to time. He is apparently a tourist, and is the only character without a mask. We are waiting to find out what his peccadillos are.
  • Frog has recently moved to the neighbourhood and lives with Bat. She wears a rabbitmask to fit in more smootly. Bat hasen't figured out she's a frog. He may call her 'Bunny', this is probably due to his inferiority complex.
