David Gonterman (also known as Daveykins Foxfire) is an artist and head of St. Louis based FoxFire Studios. He has created several comics and pieces of fanfiction.
Gonterman is by far most well-known for his actions within several fan spheres, including those of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sailor Moon. He gained a reputation for producing works of very dubious quality and for being especially thin-skinned about criticism, often removing his works entirely from the internet at the first sign of negative press and lashing out at his critics through his comics (which usually were also subsequently removed from the internet). At least one of the pieces of fan fiction he produced during this period, called "American Kitsune," earned Gonterman a reputation for being a racist and homophobe and resulted in him nearly being forcibly ejected from the Sailor Moon fan community. In another instance, he produced works and criticism of such intensity and fury over the death of a favorite character of his from the Sonic the Hedgehog comics that the artist in question responsible for these decisions gave Gonterman advance copies of the comic to show him how the storyline resolved in an effort to get him to be quiet.
Currently, Gonterman still runs FoxFire Studios and is currently working on several projects, including a few webcomics.
