Graphic Smash, established by Joey Manley, is the youngest member of the Modern Tales family of webcomics anthology sites. The site publishes comics that emphasize an action element in their stories. Created initially as a subscription site where all but ten percent of the archive any given title was behind a subscription-wall, Graphic Smash moved in August 2006 to a model where most titles have free archives with only a small number of titles still requiring a subscription to access the archives.

As with all Modern Tales sites, Graphic Smash has an editor whose principle tasks include sourcing appropriate talent to fill the regular roster and maintaining overall site quality. Graphic Smash was edited from its inception by Fans creator T Campbell until early August 2006; Reckless Life creator Tim Demeter then became, and currently remains, the editor of the site.
