Jeph Jacques
From Comixpedia
Jeph Jacques (b. June 17, 1980, pronounced "jacks") writes and illustrates the webcomics Questionable Content and IndieTits. He was born in Rockville, Maryland, graduated from Hampshire College with a degree in music, and lives in Easthampton, Massachusetts with his girlfriend (and business manager) Cristi. Jacques is a self-described hipster and has a broad taste in music which is evident in the comics he creates.
Born in Rockville, Maryland, Jeph spends a large part of his life drawing and enjoys bringing his work to his fans. He also plays guitar, considering it "one of [his] favorite things in the entire world."
Questionable Content (QC) is a comedic slice-of-life webcomic that Jacques started on August 1, 2003.[1] It was initially published three days a week, but on September 4, 2004 Jacques quit his day job to begin publishing QC every weekday. Jeph can be considered one of the small number of professional webcartoonists as he and Cristi both make their living through QC.
Jacques launched IndieTits as an anonymous side-project on April 1, 2005 to use ideas that did not fit into Questionable Content's setting. Compared to Questionable Content, it is a simple strip, eschewing detailed art and linear storyline in favour of reusable pre-drawn panels and one-shot jokes. To further broaden his drawing limits, Jeph created Jephdraw to place unnamed drawings of his onto the internet. He puts anything from favored panels to simple sketches for others to see what he does in his spare time.
Jeph is a member of Dayfree Press, joining forces with artists like Christian Fundin and Pontus Madsen (Little Gamers), Sam Logan (Sam and Fuzzy), and Ryan North (Dinosaur Comics).
Jeph also records music, both under his name and as Deathmøle (Marten's band in the strip), which he uploads onto his livejournal. Some of his songs include D With Compression and a special Unicorn Battle for his 666 strip of Questionable Content.
He has two tattoos, the first being a self-designed tattoo of a sparrow on the inside of his right forearm, a picture of which can be seen here: Picture. Jeph recently (July 29, 2005) had another tattoo done; this time of three small birds drawn by his friend Rosemary Mosco. A picture of this tattoo can be seen here.
