Refuge is a story that includes mundane horror and surreal behaviour set in a fictional street and town. The two central characters, whilst drawn to each other for inexplicable reasons in an odd relationship of need, fear and habit, are caught in a claustrophobic world, neither being able to seek release from the other. Their relations whilst seeming simple at first, get ever more complicated and uncertain as time goes on, and outside events impede.
Drawn as a series of nightmarish dramas, attempting to create a fictional equivalent of real life ordeals and power relationships.
Materials: pen and ink on paper.
