Surreal Kins is a webcomic by Edgardo G. Salomon (also known as AtmanRyu) about the adventures and misadventures of 5 unlikely friends in a not-so-open-minded world. Thought at first by the author as a newspaper comic strip-like format, the idea slowly developed into a slightly more serious (with a dash of wry wit) action/adventure comic and posted its first page in Keenspace (now called Comic Genesis) on July 15, 2002.
Although it doesn't have a specific genre (according to the author at least), it is usually labeled as an anthropomorphic webcomic because 4 of the 5 main characters have the qualifying characteristics.

[edit] Premise
It is summarized by the webcomic's motto: "A slice of everything, and more!"
It means that it could be seen as a comic with a "slice-of-life" motive, starched with fantasy and science fiction topics.
Of course, that means that the Surreal Kins' main premise is likely to change as the plot goes on...
[edit] Setting
The world of Surreal Kins is pretty much like our own (and dare to say, up to date with major world events), except of course by the fact that it also populated by fantasy creatures such as dragons, werecreatures, vampires, etc., also known as otherkins.

[edit] Main Characters
[edit] Leonard "Leo" Branford

A hapless and slightly neurotic human. Even though he looks like a slacker, he’s a brilliant man when it comes to computers and electronics, knowing every programming language from ABC to Z, and even capable of writing his own if he feels like it; he’s quite good with numbers as well. When it comes to life itself however, he can be quite a klutz.
With his “forced” exposure to otherkins, he gained a new insight on life which helps him understand and accept new experiences. This came handy, as he eventually found out that there are werewolves in his family tree.
