Pet Professional

Pet Professional is a 2005 webcomic written by Jason Salsbury and drawn by Matt Kaufenberg. The comic follows the adventures of a hitman who only takes contracts against domesticated animals (though he has been known to go after zoo animals). The comic began after Salsbury, with the help of his friend, Scott Kurtz of PvP fame put out an open audition (of sorts) for an artist to draw his comic. Some time later, Matt Kaufenberg was chosen and Pet Professional was born. In the beginning, the strips were largely one shots, showing the PetPro assassinating pets, but recently, the strips have developed into an interesting and quirky story arc, with PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) attempting to arrest the Pet Pro (and failing). He used this to his own advantage and got a job at their headquarters and pulling pranks on one of the PETA agents who kept trying (and failing) to capture him.

• Pet Professional: Real name is unknown, along with much about his life. He's bald and wears a black shirt with red cat skull on the front (similar to The Punisher's white skull emblem)He seems to take satisfaction in his job. He chose being a pet hitman because, in his own words, "Specialization is important". Has a fear of insects and has used excessive force when performing a hit on them. Currently working at PETA, due to that organization not knowing his true identity. Appears to be infatuated with PETA Agent's sister.
• The Voice: Unknown woman who gives the Pet Pro his contracts. Nothing is known about her, save she appears to have dark skin and long hair.
• Agent Lincoln: Blonde agent working for PETA. Has led multiple attempts to ambush and arrest the Pet Professional for killing animals, but has failed each time. Has usually been left humiliated (put in a fur coat with meat shoved in mouth, while unconscious) or injured (mauled by panthers) in these attempts. Ironically, he appears to be making friends with the Pet Pro (Due to he and the organization not knowing the identity of the hitman) Recently had his house destroyed and tires on his car slashed by Pet Pro.
