Tuna Carpaccio P.I. is an online comic written by Tony Chavira and illustrated by Josh Dunlap. It debuted on April 14, 2008, and new comic strips are currently posted every Tuesday.
A combination noir-era/comedy in the theme of 1940s Looney Tunes cartoons, Dick Tracy serials and the 1970s televised Batman, Tuna Carpaccio is an inept detective that is handed clues that send him aimlessly around town as he hunts the gangster, Jose Maria De Jesus. There are a wide cast of characters with recurring roles and vocal styles that interact with Tuna's character. Villains and henchmen are developed out of combination of gimmicks, as written puns are built on each other.
Ain't It Cool News describes Tuna Carpaccio P.I. as "an especially witty read" with artwork that is "fun and along the lines of THE VENTURE BROTHERS cartoon."Ain't It Cool News, Issue 18, Volume 7
