Turbulence (タブレンス) is a one-shot webmanga by Ki Hiwatari, focusing on the story of two step-siblings. The idea of the story came randomly as the author was taking his Hydrology (Open Channel Flow) final examination, and of course, the title "Turbulence" comes from turbulent flow.

Suzuhara Yana has been the target of her classmates since she was small. Because of her father's death, Yana and her mother lived a hard life in a small place. However, her mother remarried one day to Suzuki, one of the richest families in the place. Yana began her new life in the big house, but she was disliked by her stepfather, and her new elder brother had a bad attitude.

Yana lived in a small loft the the top of the house, and she was not allowed to use the front door. Despite her bad experiences, Yana tried to live a normal life in school, but soon afterwards she discovered the true personality of her brother...

Yana Suzuhara/Suzuki (鈴原/鈴木弥奈 Suzuhara/Suzuki Yana)

Yana is a poor girl who lived with her mother, supporting each other before her mother remarried to Suzuki, a rich man in town. Since Yana had always been bullied by her rich classmates when she was small, she had developed an unknown hatred towards anyone who is rich. She hated being in the new Suzuki mansion, but if it made her mother happy, Yana was willing to endure her own sadness.

Kyo Suzuki (鈴木京 Suzuki Kyō)

Kyo is the only son of Suzuki, also the step-brother of Yana. He always put on an irritated face and blamed people whenever something went wrong. However, he seemed to have an extraordinarily generous attitude towards his new sister.

Ryo Akashima (赤島亮 Akashima Ryō)

Ryo is the president of the "poor section" of the school, also an upperclassman of Yana's. He knew the relation between Yana and Kyo from the start and got close to Yana in order to test his theory and to take revenge on Kyo.

Eiji Suzuki (鈴木英二 Suzuki Eiji)

The rich man whom Yana's mother remarried to, also the father of Kyo. He hated Yana very much and would torture her whenever he saw her in his house.

Yuuko Suzuhara (鈴原裕子 Suzuhara Yūko)

Yana's mother who remarried because she could no longer stand the hardship of poverty. She didn't really care about her daughter much. She is a foolish and selfish mother.

Yuuki Okai (岡井優紀 Okai Yūki)

The only maid inside the Suzuki mansion who was responsible for basically everything.

Hikaru Kudou (工藤光 Kudō Hikaru)

Kyo's friend in school. He had his own sense of humour and liked to tease Kyo, but usually ended up in being threatened.

Sakurako Chiba (千葉桜子 Chiba Sakurako)

Kyo's classmate whose help he borrowed to trick Ryo into leaving Yana, which the expense of lending her his Biology notes...
