Xaviar Xerexes is a writer, creator and journalist primarily focused on the collision of comics and the web. He is best known for creating the webcomics news and community site, ComixTalk; the webcomics encyclopedia Comixpedia, the webcomic event hub Fright Night, and being a member of the early webcomics collective Altbrand.
Xerexes began work on the website that became ComixTalk (formerly known as Comixpedia, or Comixpedia.com) in 2002 and the site launched in February 2003. ComixTalk was the first online publication primarily focused on webcomics, their creators and related topics concerning the publication of comics on the web and in other digital forms. Xerexes has been the primary writer for the daily news and commentary published at ComixTalk and continues to contribute commentary and other articles to the site.

In late 2005, Xerexes created a community-edited encyclopedia for webcomics using the Mediawiki software and hosted at the comixpedia.org domain. The suggestion for the webcomic wiki came from Eric Burns in a post at his Websnark blog. Xerexes held the role of "benevolent dictator" for the site until the summer of 2007 when he transferred the project to Josh Roberts of OnlineComics.net.
Between 2005 and mid-2007, both ComixTalk and the webcomic encyclopedia were known as Comixpedia (to distinguish between the two, ComixTalk was often referred to as comixpedia.com and the webcomic encyclopedia was referred to as comixpedia.org). Beginning in July 2007, the news and community site (comixpedia.com) changed its name and URL to ComixTalk (comixtalk.com) and the webcomics encyclopedia took over exclusive use of the name Comixpedia.
 Fright Night
Xerexes has helped to organize a number of multi-participant webcomic events, including Fright Night, Blind Date and May Day. Since 2007, the archives of webcomics created in connection with these events have been hosted at Fright Night.
Xerexes was a founding member of the early webcomics collective, Altbrand, along with BoxJam B. Boxjam, Brad Guigar, Case Yorke, Lee Adam Herold and Adam Burke. Altbrand was primarily active as a group between 2000 and 2002. While a member of Altbrand, Xerexes was the creator of a serialized journal comic titled Life in 4 Panels.
